This Gasbox horseshoe oil tank is designed to fit 1965+ Harley-Davidson four-speed Big Twin swingarm frames, perfect for custom Shovelhead builds. These bolt-on Harley oil tanks are crafted for easy installation, using durable mounting brackets. The rear bracket clamps to the frame and the front bracket replaces to clutch cable mount. You will need to cut off left side stock oil tank tab, if it isn’t broken off already (ha!). You will need to make a modification to the front of the rear fender as it will hit the oil tank bracket. If you are using a 1980’s era frame, the integrated clutch cable front oil tank mount will need to be eliminated and an earlier style mount will have to be adapted.
This tank is designed for a YTZ-14S battery (you can find these online way cheaper than we are able to sell them for!, or one of similar size. This is the smallest electric start battery available other than Lithium Ion batteries (antigravity). The tank will also require the purchase of 1/8″ NPT fittings of your choosing for the oil lines. Tank capacity Is approximately 3.5 quarts. Completely TIG welded and hand formed in Cleveland, Ohio.
NOTE This oil tank works with both ratchet lid and cowpie transmissions, as well as motorcycles with electric start.
